Read: Mark 2:5-12
Reflect: Those who saw the paralyzed man jump up and walk out of the house were stunned. Of course, they were. A miracle happened right in front of them.
It was the second miracle that happened right in front of them that day. There is no mention that normal people even noticed the first one. But the religious law teachers noticed it, and it angered them.
What was the first miracle? “Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, ‘My child, your sins are forgiven.’” Do you recognize this miracle in your own life? If you have put your faith (trust) in Jesus, your sins are forgiven! All of your sins are forgiven. Yes, even that one. Only God, through Jesus’ death and resurrection, can forgive sins. And if God does something only He can do, it’s a miracle. You are a walking miracle every day because you live a forgiven, free life. Only your Heavenly Father could give you that.
Next Step: Your sins are forgiven because you put your faith (trust) in Jesus. What is one thing you can do this week that will cause you to trust Jesus just a little more? When you live a life of forgiveness and freedom, you can trust Jesus more and more. Do something this week that makes you nervous and causes you to trust Jesus more.
Pray: Heavenly Father, help me remember that I am surrounded by one of Your miracles daily. Thank You for forgiving all of my sins. Please help me to live as a free and forgiven person.
